@MegRaeB @MiahFromFargo You’d have to use an underutilized cut like navels. I think brisket has been tried in the past but it’s too valuable as a brisket. There isn’t really enough protein on the belly to justify trying for bacon in beef and the fat renders much differently than pork.
@MegRaeB @MiahFromFargo In full transparency I’ve tried a lot of beef bacon. It’s all bad. It’s just nothing like pork. That was today’s conversation with my family, leave the bacon to the pigs.
@MegRaeB @MiahFromFargo Thanks Megan. It’s funny that you tagged me in this my family and I were just talking about this today. There is beef bacon on the market, it’s the Gwaltney brand bacon (Smithfield owned) made from beef navels. There is also Shmakin (I think) been bacon.
