Navigating complexity often requires a thoughtful collection of measures. In early XP projects I led, we balanced goals (outcomes) w/ velocity (a simple sizing tool to shorten learning cycles) Velocity in Scrumland tends toward overly certain that getting things done equals value https://t.co/bPVR2GbPT7
@jeffpatton@davidhussman Dave I've always really appreciated your friendship and folksy wisdom. I still describe your sartorial style as "Dress-camping". You've demonstrated how to make the most out of these last months with your family. I'm lucky to have known you. Thanks for treating me so well.

I put this together about a year ago after a few glasses of Freakshow Cab…DUDE Value Lifecycle. Detect>Understand>Decide>Evolve. Focus on Value! @davidhussman this one’s for you!
4 years ago, I opened the new door of coaching and leading agility with @davidhussman in post-retreat workshop, Thailand. Big thanks for your sharing experience. I’m still using it.
@jeffpatton@davidhussman We had the honor of bringing David along for a week in Budapest. He connected with folks in a magical way. But the best part was walking the streets with him and seeing the world through his eyes: joyous wonder at everything. Dude is awesome.
2/2 - Being on a similar path to Gerry, I’m more impacted than ever. I once wrote to him in frustration. His advice to me: “stop yelling into the wind and try to expand views and actions with actions and deeds.” He grounded my challenge quickly with openness and simplicity.
1/2 - So sad to wake to the news that Gerry Weinberg has died. Along with other big hearted thinkers like @WardCunningham Gerry’s ideas shaped many of mine for the better and meaningfully changed how I approached human interactions actions. He will be missed.
Thanks Josh. I’m happy we met and found hang time around wirk and non work ideas and people. I do appreciate being introduced to brilliant and thoughtful people like @WardCunningham.
Dear @davidhussman, I’ve so enjoyed our friendship and watching you become a great leader, walking the talk by crafting products/services/experiences that people love, sharing awesome ideas around the globe and being an inspiration to many. Thanks for being you. The dude abides.
Thanks Jeff. I’d say the same for you in many areas, all of which you have poured your heart and soul into challenging and supporting the Twin Cities a hub of tech / product learning. Thanks for pairing with me friend!
@jeffpatton@davidhussman@davidhussman thank you for the opportunity to work with you on Chicago Agile Open Space Meetups, Agile Day Chicago and being an attendee in your Agile20XX sessions. Whenever I was in the room with you, your passion for the craft is unbelievable, and I’ve learned so much from you
Yesterday, three muso buds (one being my step daughter — an ugly word) gathered in my house to talk songs for a service and it exploded into a spontaneous house jam that made my day and started us burning down the house.
