Today after my sermon someone said, "Pastor when you preach I can tell that you love us."
That's a pretty good summary of what should motivate preaching.
@__debi__t It’s not. I think it’s unhealthy for their own spiritual growth. I’ve seen too many do it and then not understand the difference between following Jesus and being in ministry.

I finished reading The Fellowship of the Ring to the boys, and they loved it. I'm shocked it held their attention. They were devastated by Gandalf's death, so I am excited for their reaction when he comes back.
@__debi__t I think the kind of expository preaching that spends years in a book can be damaging. But I always want to know what people mean when they talk about “verse by verse” or “expository preaching.” People often seem to have different definitions of it.
