I've cleaned-up a festive auctochrome for you, of an old Christmas tree. It was photographed in colour by Peter Vedenisov 112 years ago, at the end of 1911. Amongst the many national flags which festoon the branches, it's interesting to note that some no longer exist.

I think this is quite a remarkable autochrome portrait: It is Henri Louis René Lumière, photographed in colour 109 year ago by his father Auguste. Doesn't it just strip away the barriers of time? He died over 50 years ago, at the ages of 74, but is forever captured in his prime.
