@johnkonrad To what extent do you think the elite understand this system? Could it be to some extent a meta phenomenon, evolving on its own with no one in charge? Or was this system designed, built, carefully constructed to work the way it does?
@karrisaarinen@Glenn69420@garrytan This can only be built on top of a fully self sovereign identity layer, as exemplified by PGP. Nostr is where the most exciting work in this space is being done, not ActivityPub, and definitely not bluesky. Although it’s not there yet — much more is yet to be built.
@karrisaarinen@Glenn69420@garrytan Collapsing the whole social web into one network is not (or should not) be the goal of anyone trying to build an open source, permissionless, decentralized social web.
The moment nobody talks about btc, if there is ever complete silence across the entire spectrum of topics RE: bitcoin, that's when I'll get worried.
For now, we need MORE, a LOT MORE podcasts, spaces, convos, conferences, & overall places to exchange ideas and thoughts about btc. Grant @thewholeframe and @LucasMaddy do an exceptionally amazing job with the "btc study sessions" & now this substack pieces!! LOVE to see more content like this!!!
This is all a net positive to the "knowledge network" of btc, & super grateful to the entire space & how engaging it has been with the research I'm open-sourcing. Onwards!!!

My forthcoming book “What Is Intelligence?” offers a new perspective on the evolutionary and social origins of intelligence. It draws from the work of countless brilliant thinkers, but I wanted to share a few books that were particularly influential.
@NeoMyers@zoerosebryant One of the many layers to that scene is that Walt’s prime motivation throughout the entire show has been to convince people like Hank that he’s the smartest guy they’ve ever met.
Transactions fees are the only way to filter what you call “spam”. Here’s Andreas Antonop. explaining how implementing filters creates what he calls a “dictatorship of developers”.
Everyone knew this all along, up until yesterday.
Allen Farrington just posted a killer thesis on NOSTR.
Many Bitcoiners argue stablecoins accelerate hyperbitcoinization.
Allen agrees—but not for the reasons you’ve heard.
His view flips the whole discussion on its head. 🧵👇
@TOEwithCurt Are you referring to spacetimes that admit closed timelike curves as discussed by Echeverria, Klinkhammer and Kip Thorne? They were surprised to discover that the so-called Cauchy problem can be ill posed in such spacetimes. Super interesting observation.

@gonglei89@dawsmik My interpretation of this graph is that for the bottom 98 or 99% of the population, fertility is inversely proportional to income. It’s only for the top 1 or 2% that it’s the reverse.
