A Boomer from Ontario skipped Canada Day completely. Came down to the U.S. two days early, stayed for the July 4th celebrations, and said straight up he’s here for the big party with President Trump.

When asked why, he didn’t hesitate:
“I love the freedom you have here. We have a lot of anti-free speech laws being implemented right now in Canada… they call them hate laws.”

No apologies. No virtue signaling. Just a regular guy who still remembers what actual freedom feels like and isn’t afraid to say Canada is losing it.

While the rest of the country gets lectured about “elbows up” and managed decline, this is the quiet part out loud — more and more Canadians are voting with their feet and their calendars.

This guy gets it.

The question is how many more feel the same way before Ottawa notices.

Poilievre’s job, as the leader of the official opposition, is to hold the Liberal government accountable - not govern the country.

That means, on behalf of all Canadian, his job is to press for answers, scrutinize decisions and when warranted, demand investigations into scenarios like the Vancouver condo bailout.

Yet media attention and criticism from Liberal supporters is aimed only at Poilievre rather than the PM and government responsible for Canada’s current economic state.

For the last 11 years, Canada has experienced sluggish productivity and dormant economic growth.

What explains the deliberate focus on Poilievre, rather than Carney and the Liberals - the PM and actually governing Canada? This goes beyond stupidly to something more.
