As Sony prepares to stop producing discs for new PlayStation games in 2028, Serenity Forge says physical games remain an important part of its business.

In an email interview with Game File, Serenity Forge founder and CEO Zhenghua Yang said physical releases are more than just another sales channel.
They are part of the company’s mission to bring games to as many people as possible.

Yang explained that physical games help the studio reach audiences digital storefronts often miss, including players without reliable internet or who prefer discs.

“It's actually an important part of our mission to bring meaningful games to as many people as possible globally.”

Me gustaría que la gran mayoría de jugadores no olviden como paso con epic y su club fortnite.
Ahora simplemente estan como si nada subiendo skins y todos felices. Espero que eso no pase con la mierda que nos toca ahora con fuckstation y fuckstar.

También que les cuesta mejorar el almacenamiento de los discos bluray. Por qué literal te compras un disco sin data dentro. Ya que cobras tan alto por un juego, al menos haz algo que valga la pena. Pero siempre es mejor el camino fácil.

Los juegos físicos eran la única razón por la cual todo tenía un sentido, si le quitas a las consolas los juegos físicos. Dejas al final que todo se mescle y sea todo lo mismo. Ya no das un motivo por qué comprar una consola y mejor pasar a comprar una PC.

Simplemente ver la vida como avanza y quedar obsoleto. Conformismo, comodidad. Simplemente crecimos y miramos como todo lo bueno se va. Simplemente no quiero creer en el futuro.

A few days ago, Sony removed hundreds of movies from people’s accounts even though they had paid for them. This is what will happen one day to your games, they will remove whatever they want.

Of course, I don’t expect games to become cheaper. Even though they will save money by no longer producing discs, cases, printed materials, or shipping physical copies, they will charge the same or more.

This is the future they’re want, one where you own nothing and be happy. Physical games will be soon become a thing of the past.

Keep all your physical games, don’t sell them, they might become real treasures one day.
