I’m sure there are tons of extremely talented foreigners who could come here and do all the highest-paid jobs better than Americans. But why should we give all the best positions in our country to foreigners? What people in all of history would have willingly accepted that?
If it feels like there’s less enthusiasm for America’s 250th it probably has something to do with the gajillion foreigners here who have zero ties to our culture and history. America when it’s an idea does not produce the same results as America when it’s a nation and a people.
@Gebo___ You can’t be serious. Golf was invented in America not long after its founding and is considered our national pastime. Trying to even remotely compare the two is absurd.
There is not a SINGLE example in American history where a mass of rootless out-of-staters moved to a conservative state and the state being moved into did not suffer. There are many examples to the contrary.
You are inviting a pillaging.
Thinking about the Paul McNeil Jr situation.
He's got a million people in his ear right now, but you have to believe being from NC, that he understands that if he leaves for Baton Rouge, he'll be seen as a villain, and if he stays at NC State, he'll be a legend for life.
It's unfortunate, but that's kind of the reality. I mean, look at Julius Hodge. The guy almost left, came back, showed loyalty, and became a legendary figure forever in Raleigh.
McNeil has that chance.
If he stays, he likely breaks most of NC State's 3pt records. Still becomes a millionaire and still moves on to the NBA eventually.
When his career is done at 35 years old, he'll get to move back home, celebrated by everyone, with opportunities everywhere for the next 50 years of his life.
That's just how it works here. Hope he chooses wisely.

Yes. Thank God. We need to support and celebrate this judge. She’s one of the few with the courage to treat these scumbags exactly as they deserve to be treated. We don’t have to be held hostage by the worst among us. We can actually punish them.
