The cold front has began to enter our region causing scattered showers and storms. We turn cloudy during the overnight hours with considerably cooler temperatures and lower humidity levels for Friday.
RADAR CHECK: The cold front is approaching our region which is leading to scattered showers and storms. These storms are not expected to be severe but could have heavy downpours and some ponding of water on the roadways.
The heat alerts for our area will come to an end later tonight. The First Alert Weather Day will also expire at 7 p.m. upon expiration of these warnings and advisories. Still staying warm for Thursday with a few chances for a scattered shower or storm.
MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE!
A magnitude 8.7 earthquake just struck off the coast of Russia less than one hour ago. This makes it one of the top 10 largest earthquakes to be recorded! A tsunami warning has been issued for portions of the Alaska Coast and all of Hawaii.
Our FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY has been extended into Wednesday. The extreme heat warning has been extended into Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Heat indices may reach up to 110 degrees in the purple shaded counties.
Excessive heat warnings remain in place for the evening where heat indices up to 110 degrees are possible. Heat advisories remain in place through tomorrow with highs expected to be back into the middle 90s.

RADAR CHECK 8:10 PM: The line of storms continues to track to the south. No warnings as of yet, but gusty winds and torrential downpours can be expected with this line.
A line of storms are moving to the southeast that are located near Louisville and southern Indiana. These storms will generally be weakening over the next couple of hours, but our northern most communities could see gusty winds and heavy rain as this line pushes closer.
