You see that when the last line is very high, you are able to compress the pitch, then you have small space to defend the ball side.
Remember that teams are vulnerable when they win the ball back because within the first 2—3 seconds they are still in the defending shape, before the reset into proper attacking shape, you can win the ball back & hit them.
