Many families never get their autistic children diagnosed either b/c they want them to remain mainstreamed or they don't have the resources, many autists are high functioning like Brian, many school districts don't address or categorize an autist if he is passing the grade-level tests.

Mr. Grillo, spend a day with an autistic person with issues like Brian and you will see that their routine is their entire life. It's the only thing that makes sense in a world where their nervous system is wired completely differently than everybody around them, including the people they love and depend on. Everything outside the routine is a chaotic unknown that could trigger losing control of their body or one or more of their five senses for 20 minutes or three days. Keeping this type of person in prison away from their routine before a trial rather than allowing release on bond is cruel and unusual punishment to say the least.
