"Rise like Lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number,
Shake your chains to earth like dew....
Ye are many - they are few"
Yesterday, I published an article about https://t.co/0bhBHhWvVa
I want to issue a public correction and a sincere apology for an error.
In that article, I said 500,000 people had signed up. That was incorrect.
It is now 600,000 — and counting.
Real change is coming.
Today, after 14 years, I’m resigning from the Labour Party.
Jeremy Corbyn and I will co-lead the founding of a new party, with other Independent MPs, campaigners and activists across the country.

Disability benefit cuts will push over 250,000 people, including 50,000 children, into poverty.
So I asked the Chancellor —who earns over £150,000, accepted £7,500 in free clothes & took freebie tickets to see Sabrina Carpenter— if Austerity 2.0 is the "change" people voted for?
As I’ve said before, the cruel attacks on disabled people by the DWP since 2010 will go down in history as an inexcusable crime —so will this Government’s plans now.
I will be voting against cuts to disability benefits.
My colleagues can & must do so too
Earlier this morning I went along to support the demonstration by disabled people campaigning against the cuts in benefits the government is inflicting on them. Shocked at overnight increase in cuts. @Dis_PPL_Protest
Lambeth Labour councillors clapped as they justified the £99 million in cuts that they just voted through. They say they represent the borough by they shred local services as Labour refuses to implement the kind of economic policies that would end austerity.
The public sector is still being wrecked even under a Labour government. Vital services we all rely on are being shredded. Anotehr 99 million in cuts at Lambeth in the next 3 years.
Time to take a stand!

Labour MP Helen Hayes today welcoming news of a ceasefire.
There are few politicians more shameless than Hayes. On the 15th Nov 2023 Hayes declared "My conscience tells me that I must call for a ceasefire today". A few hours later she abstained in the vote for a ceasefire
I spoke today to oppose the government’s proposal to cut Winter Fuel Allowance. I voted against this because it will not only cause real hardship for many of my constituents this winter there is a real risk some will die.
I’ve just voted against the means-testing of the Winter Fuel payments.
I stand with my constituents in opposing austerity and I will continue to stand up for Poplar and Limehouse — no matter what.
I just voted against the means-testing of Winter Fuel Payments.
I cannot stand idly by and see austerity 2.0 implemented.
This is not the change people voted for.
I just voted against cutting the Winter Fuel Allowance.
For me, this was a matter of conscience. This cut is not only going to cause even greater hardship for so many pensioners in my constituency who are already living in poverty, but it will also cost lives.
