🔥 SOME PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PHYSICAL DEPENDENCE AND ADDICTION BEFORE LECTURING CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS.
There’s a troubling misconception that anyone who relies on prescription opioids to manage chronic pain must automatically be an addict.
And every time, I’m reminded that confidence and medical knowledge are two very different things.
Let’s clear something up. Again.
PHYSICAL DEPENDENCE IS NOT THE SAME AS ADDICTION.
Your body adapting to a medication does not mean you have a substance use disorder.
Tolerance isn’t a moral failure.
Dependence isn’t proof of addiction.
And needing medication to manage a debilitating medical condition isn’t evidence of drug-seeking behavior.
Can prescription opioids carry serious risks? Absolutely.
Can someone develop opioid use disorder while taking them? Yes.
But treating every long-term pain patient as though they’re struggling with addiction simply because they require medication is medically inaccurate and profoundly stigmatizing.
A PATIENT SHOULDN’T HAVE TO DEFEND THEIR CHARACTER JUST BECAUSE THEIR BODY REQUIRES TREATMENT.
And perhaps the people throwing around the word “addict” so casually should spend a little less time judging patients and a little more time learning what the word actually means.
🔥 PHYSICAL DEPENDENCE IS NOT THE SAME AS ADDICTION, FOLKS!
For fuck’s sake, how many times do we have to explain this?
If you drink coffee every morning and get a headache when you stop, your body has adapted to caffeine, also know as “caffeine withdrawal.”
If a chronic pain patient takes prescribed medication for years and experiences withdrawal when stopping abruptly, their body has adapted to that medication.
THAT’S PHYSICAL DEPENDENCE,
NOT ADDICTION.
Addiction involves compulsive use despite harmful consequences.
Dependence means your body has gotten used to a substance.
And here’s the kicker:
You can be physically dependent WITHOUT being addicted.
Stop treating chronic pain patients like criminals because you don’t understand basic physiology.

This might be the funniest commercial I've seen in a very long time. Its for the jewelry section of JC Penny's and it is priceless. They really sunk some money into it. I guess they do good sales there. I know that im buying my very special lady's ring at a better known jewelry store than JC's 🤣🤣🤣💍
Stop measuring chronically ill people against the best hour you happened to witness.
You saw me dressed.
You saw me laughing.
You saw me driving.
You saw me at dinner.
You saw me outside of my house.
What you did not see was the calculation that came before it.
The medications.
The hydration.
The rest.
The canceled plans.
The symptoms I ignored long enough to participate.
The recovery waiting for me when I got home.
You saw one hour in a body I have to live in 24 hours a day.
And somehow, that one hour becomes evidence.
“See? You looked fine.”
“See? You were out.”
“See? You were smiling.”
But a good hour does not erase a chronic illness.
A photograph is not a medical record.
A laugh is not remission.
A shower is not recovery.
An outing is not proof that someone is well.
Some of the sickest people you know have become extraordinarily good at looking normal for short periods of time.
That is not evidence that they are exaggerating.
It is evidence of how hard they are fighting to keep pieces of their life.

Moderna Began Developing a Bundibugyo Ebola mRNA “Vaccine” Just 4 Months Before WHO Declared a Global Emergency
Bill Gates-backed CEPI awarded Moderna and Oxford $26.7 million to develop multivalent Ebola mRNA and viral vector shots in January 2026. Impeccably timed investment just a few months before a well-publicized Ebola outbreak. @CEPIvaccines@NicHulscher@McCulloughFund@GatesAfrica https://t.co/g5GngHQVan
