With 'immense whirlwinds' and 'fiery dragons', the first few months of 793 certainly were worrying times in Anglo-Saxon England.
Incredibly, worse was to come. 😬 https://t.co/yRtW4KW4O2
👑 King Henry II imprisoned his wife - Eleanor of Aquitaine - for 16 years only releasing her at Christmas in 1184 to present a reunited family front and fulfil a pledge of fidelity.

108 ancient woodlands are set to be destroyed by HS2 . Don’t let this be their last Christmas . Make a pledge to stand for the trees at https://t.co/VtbR3rzlbC #ReThinkHS2 Sound on .
In ruling that #HS2 have legal possession of public footpath through the Harvil Road #StopHS2 protection camp, David Holland QC has created a bonkers legal precedent, deciding it's a public nuisance to stand on a public highway and record crimes taking place on private property.
An outgoing #HS2 Ltd boss is heading to work at HS2 contractor Atkins, where HS2 chairman Allan Cook used to work. So clearly no nepotism or conflict of interest around this multi-billion over-budget jobs-for-the-boys gravy train! https://t.co/ceGBiXzWOP #StopHS2#HS2NoThankYou
SHOCK NEWS: Firms that want to be paid billions for building #HS2 think HS2 is a great idea and will say any old bollocks to con the gullible into thinking their vested interests are actually the national interests.
@WildlifeTrusts Stop HS2. I read there is so much talk about cancelling it in government, why not chase up some MPs to see how the project may be stopped altogether. A total waste of money and terrible for our environment wherever it goes.
Bees, butterflies and birds all benefit from grass grown long. We need to see less mowing of our roadside verges. RT if you'd love to see grass allowed to grow 🌱
