In Ottawa, I attended WAVES 2025, visiting with language & knowledge keepers from the NWT & Labrador. I also had the honour of providing them with a tour of the Senate. A powerful reminder of the urgent need to protect, revitalize & celebrate Indigenous languages.
From July 28–Aug 4, I had the honour of visiting Ulukhaktok, meeting Mayor Pat Klengenberg & joining a community meeting to hear directly about issues affecting residents. Grateful for the warm welcome & inspired by the strength of this remarkable community.
