My defense of the humanities is that every business school should have to offer a mandatory course called "These Guys Suck, Don't Be These Guys: Basic Viewing Comprehension and the Films of David Fincher."

@kriegundfreitag wird es vielleicht irgendwann wieder "schlecht wach" Tassen geben? Meine habe ich vor einem jahr im Büro verloren und seitdem vermisse ich sie 🥲

Solidarity with UC Student-Workers ✊

[UAW 4811 @uaw_4811]

Mass membership meetings are happening at every UC campus. Workers are coming out in huge numbers to call for a strike authorization vote in response to UC's unlawful behavior preventing us from reaching fair contracts. Join your campus' meeting this week: https://t.co/FBkRaGv237

@tipping_pitches I realize this is bad timing as today is literally the second day of fall but what are the chances of Nationalize Baseball tank tops? 👀

maybe one of my favorite german phrases is "außerplanmäßig ins halten gekommen". the combination of trains, overly precise communication, and general silliness is just… fantastisch

I heard it's Wear Your @tipping_pitches Shirt to Work Day. Solidarity from Germany and #UnionizeTheMinors

@TaylordAirwaves @wrcucolgate A few years back, during a fundraising drive, I tuned in from Freiburg, Germany and donated while John was on air. Hearing him read off my contribution and say, simply, "all the way from Germany! wow…" was enough to make my entire year. He will be sorely missed

[DawsonHighland @Dawson_Highland]

@TaylordAirwaves I grew up listening to John every morning on the way to school. I was fascinated by his personality, non sequiturs, his total disregard for genre boundaries. He inspired me to broadcast, and every show I hosted at @wrcucolgate was an attempt at something as magical as Eklektikos

[DawsonHighland @Dawson_Highland]

Rest easy, John. An absolute legend in broadcasting, one of my first personal heroes. Heartbroken but looking backward with love at all he gave Austin.

[ShitJohnAielliSays @Eklektikos]

“Time is such an interesting thing. We experience it in so many different ways ... looking forward, looking backward.”

On my to-do list at work today, 14 July in the year of our Lord 2022: repair three fax machines.

[DawsonHighland @Dawson_Highland]

"can you make it faster?"
"no, but let me run ccleaner to give you the illusion of control. maybe the placebo will make it seem faster."

[DawsonHighland @Dawson_Highland]

i swear, 90% of being a university IT guy is just repeatedly having this exchange:
"why is my computer so slow?"
"because it is twelve years old and the department has no money for a new one."

[DawsonHighland @Dawson_Highland]

…I put a bookmark in the text I was reading, unlocked my phone to put on different music, and found myself unthinkingly typing "discourse analysis" into the Spotify search bar
