If you're set in your ways—you want to use your 2014 books on D&D’s website but you’re so opposed to updated spells that you don’t even want them for free—you’ll have to DIY those legacy spell and magic item interactions.

Originally we wanted to use the wealth of existing options to create adventures and content for #dnd5e. But seeing WotC entertain the use of AI has spoiled that entirely. It's a shame. These hobbies are better together.
