CONTEXT: WNBA attention has exploded.

In 2024, the league reached more than 54 million unique viewers, while games on ESPN platforms averaged 1.19 million viewers which is up 170% from the previous season.

And the attention has kept translating into real crowds: a July 2026 game in Montreal drew 20,996 fans, setting a new WNBA regular-season attendance record.

Under Texas law, you can lose your alcohol license if you serve alcohol to someone intoxicated by marijuana. You can also face other serious penalties

So this restaurant owner is not discriminating or being racist like what’s being claimed by the people sitting at this table, the restaurant just doesn’t want to lose their license to sell alcohol

Other Dallas restaurants have been documented as doing the same thing, they refuse service to protect their licenses
