@annielcrawford Idk but the sense that our age is making every effort to stay "frozen in time" makes a strong case for this.
Franchise reboots and remakes in pop culture, big AI technologies that recycle and remix existing media... lots of "this is all there is" vibes
Watching these AI psychosis people has taught me: you can trick retards to believe anything if you spam graphs
Iโm convinced that useless but absurdly complex graphs are a skeleton key for persuasion because it creates artificial authority
A great video from one of the more thoughtful channels on the YouTubes.
Being able to answer the questions, "is it beautiful?" and "why/who thinks this is beautiful?" are some of the most important things we should be teaching our children to answer. It'll cut right through the AI fog; it'll also give them the tools they need to sort through the detritus of popular culture. Both they success and failures of Nolan's Odyssey, for instance, are readily apparent if you just apply beauty-based questions.

the disconnect between how overwhelmingly many people find this AI food aesthetic deeply disgusting and how many people not only generate them but consider them good enough to print on the side of their store is yet more evidence that some people are not internally conscious
the people who were mean to arts-y people were not mathematicians. they were tech bros. and to no one's surprise, the tech bros are now being mean to mathematicians too. mathematicians have infinitely more in common with the arts-y people than they ever did with these guys.
Jordan Peterson is one of those guys that I refuse to ever speak badly about, regardless of how his politics develop. He delivered young men a truly never-before-seen level of hope, commitment, and discipline that will last for ages. He is an institution and a patriot.
I pray for him and his health. All love for JP.
