Multiculturalism

1. When an armed terrorist massacres innocent people, he believes his actions are justified because his beliefs and values fundamentally conflict with those of the society he is attacking.

2. When someone defecates (shits) 💩 in a suburban park and shows no respect for public spaces, it reflects a disregard for the standards and expectations that most Australians share.

3. When individuals commit serious crimes such as grooming or the sexual exploitation of children, they have rejected the moral values and laws that underpin Australian society.

4. When people burn the Australian flag in protest, they are expressing contempt for the nation and its symbols because they do not share the same sense of national identity or loyalty.

Monoculture 🇦🇺

Australia is home to people of every background, religion and ethnicity. But regardless of where we come from, we should all embrace one shared Australian identity. That means respecting the rule of law, treating one another with dignity, valuing our national institutions and symbols, and committing ourselves to building a stronger, safer, more united Australia for every Australian.

A nation cannot remain united if it is divided into competing cultures with competing values. Diversity of background can strengthen a country but only when it is built upon a common foundation of shared values, mutual respect and loyalty to Australia.
