In my entire life, I’ve never seen anything more absurd than the E Mi L’okan slogan— Rapper Falz
Rapper and actor Falz has criticised the federal government’s priorities, questioning its spending amid the country’s security challenges while dismissing the First Lady’s remarks that the pressure on the government is too much and that the younger generation should help.
Speaking during a recent interview on Arise TV, Falz questioned whether establishing more foundations was the solution to Nigeria’s problems.
“Is that the solution to our problems? More foundations? It’s absurd. It’s absurd,” he said.
He also criticised government spending, saying, “If you look at what has been spent on acquiring new vehicles, acquiring jets, acquiring all these things, and look at what has actually gone on with insecurity and what we’re facing, what are your priorities? And you’re out here talking to individuals. This is actually your job to do. It’s wild.”
Responding to the First Lady’s recent comment that the pressure on the government is too much and that the younger generation should help, Falz rejected the argument.
“What do you mean pressure on the government? Did anyone beg you to take up this role?” he asked.
Referring to the administration’s campaign slogan, “E mi l’okan,” Falz said, “Do you know what that translates to in English? It is my turn. I’ve never seen anything more absurd than that in my entire life.”
He continued, “That means from day one that you set out on your political journey, this is the day that you have been waiting for. So what can you come and say pressure is much on you? Are you okay?”

"What we have seen is a product of a systematic approach. We had the President ask the French for some measure of support regarding military activities. We had the Americans come in, and now, everybody is saying, 'This is possible; we can do this. Please, Mr. President, let's do it elsewhere.' Already in Borno, people are calling for it. So, I think this government is tough on terrorism..." — Biodun Sowunmi
