Darren Thompson was told that, if he did not stop drinking, his liver would shut down and he would only have six months to live.

Now, three years on, he has used the money he would once have spent on alcohol - around £150 every week - to fulfil a lifelong dream: to watch England play at the World Cup

The 53-year-old will be at the Azteca tonight.
