The US is already oversupplied with college trained labor and a very large proportion of new grads go on to work in jobs that don't require a degree.

Given that, hard for me to see how higher ed can act as a vehicle for increasing class mobility.

@MikeFellman Most multifamily is 5 over 1 even in dense cities. So most of the workers are still carpenters. I don't think there's a whole lot of difference skills-wise.

Steelworkers are considered higher skill and earn a lot more, but they rarely work on multifamily.
