#Dbacks Mgr. Torey Lovullo remains the 3rd longest tenured manager in baseball.
Kurt Suzuki becomes (at least) the 66th different manager to depart their organization during Lovullo's tenure in Arizona.
OFFICIAL: The Angels announced that the Club has declined the option in Kurt Suzuki’s contract and, in coordination with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, will search for a new manager and coaching staff for the 2027 season.
The '27 Arizona pen is likely going to be filled with home grown talent and pre-arb players (J-Mart, Morillo, Garcia, Carrillo, Strowd, Walston, Burgos).
Arizona needs a first baseman that is going to play in 140+ games a season, and be a cornerstone for the next 2-3 years.
Listed for #Dbacks: Trade for relief pitching; Trade target = Milwaukee RHP Trevor Megill
Megill is arb-eligible, and should pull in close to $8M in '27.
Considering the results Mike Hazen got in return for Taylor Clarke & Jonathan Loaisiga in '26...

it is a good bet Hazen will look for 'pen help at a less than premium price.
Hazen has tried the big ticket free agent relief arms, and it hasn't worked (Castro, McGough, Graveman, Melancon, Kennedy).
If Hazen had dealt Eagen, Santos, Curley for Nootbaar, then Crisantes for Holmes and the #Dbacks still missed the playoffs, he may as well have been out of a job.
Blessing in disguise the Holmes deal fell through.
What a weird deadline. The Detmers deal falls apart with the Cubs over medicals, then the Clay Holmes deal with Arizona falls through.
Maybeeee Holmes gets AZ to the playoffs, but almost certainly for the best that the Dbacks hold onto Demetrio Crisantes.
At least three former #Dbacks are set to (potentially) appear in the 2026 World Series.
LHP Cam Booser (TBR)
Feb. '22-Jul. '22 (Released)
RHP Cole Susler (TBR)
Nov. '22-Aug. '23 (DFA)
RHP Chad Patrick (MIL)
Jul. '21-Jul. '23 (Traded to OAK for INF Jace Peterson)
Milwaukee also received future considerations in the deal.
Burnes was fantastic in Baltimore (2.92 ERA, All-Star, 194.1 IP, 133 ERA+, 3.9 WAR).
Baltimore lost 2-0 to Kansas City in the Wildcard round, and missed the playoffs in '25 and '26 after losing Burnes to Arizona in FA.
02/01/24: MIL trades RHP Corbin Burnes to BAL for SS Joey Ortiz & LHP DL Hall.
It's likely that both players MIL acquired from BAL for now #Dbacks RHP Corbin Burnes are set to appear in the World Series.
Hall has pitched 5.1 innings of 2-hit-0-run ball this postseason.
RHP Taylor Clarke is next, @spotrac estimates his value at just $3.1M AAV. I think if the #Dbacks could bring him back at 2 years and ~$6.5M that’s a nice deal for both parties.
Both Loaisiga and Clarke made just $1.5M in 2026.
[@spotrac] provides an updated market value for #Dbacks RHP Jonathan Loaisiga. They list his market rate at $8.0M AAV (figure 2 years at $16M or 3 years at $24M).
At that value, it’s highly unlikely he returns to the desert.

Statistics through 12 games played
The emergence of LHP Joe Ariola is certainly making the loss of LHP Sandro Santana much easier to digest.
Ariola had 64 K and a 1.56 ERA over 34.2 IP this season (ACL, A, A+, and AA ball).

Congratulations to your 2026 National League Champions, the Milwaukee Brewers! Their first ever NL pennant and only second trip ever to the World Series (1982).
A look back at the NL Champs since the start of the Wild Card era in 1995.

There is a store called ‘Fan Outfitters’ off Scottsdale Road and E. Frank Lloyd Wright, #Dbacks, Suns, Cardinals, ASU, UA, NAU gear… full store is 70.0% off. Tons of sweet gear left. Will send a photo of what I snagged in a bit.
How the offseason navigates from early November to December 1, with an impending lockout on the way, will be fascinating to watch.
Players/agents could rush into deals to (1) ensure player is set to go once the lockout is over, and (2) is signed before the new CBA.
Important read from @SteveGilbertMLB
Outside of the LH bat situation (we knew that); "Expectation" is that the rest of the coaching staff will return in '27; GM meetings are November 9-12, we could see offseason dominoes fall then.
