@Kidfears99 I have had a kodney and whole pancreas transplant. It is NOT easy to manage and is not viewed as a cure, rather a therapy. I do not take insulin but I take immunosuppressants. I've had 2 pancreas transplants because my first failed the first year. For me, it is my best option.
Unlike you, our bodies can’t make insulin or use it properly and we die in 48-72 hours without it.
A vial costs $3 to make but is priced at $80. Most need 3-4 vials per month to survive. For life.
This is why insulin should be free for diabetics.

@dog_rates I'm so sorry for your loss. Doug was a CEO to look up to, and his story mirrored my Max, who recently crossed as well. Sending lots of love your way.
@oldenoughtosay Cook a chopped onion in butter until soft. add 1 tbsp curry powder, 1/2tsp S&P. After 30 secs add 1 head of cauliflower, chopped up. Cover and let sweat for 5-7 mins. Add 5c veg broth, bring to a boil, then simmer til cauli is soft. Season to taste and puree for a yummy soup!
@relaxander666 Like all chronic conditions, it has its ups and downs. I lost my first pancreas transplant, but i'm currently re-listed and waiting. Fortunately, my kidney is doing great!
@TheColorOfJess I hear you and I've been there too. Your body let you down and you have to rebuild the process. Give yourself the time to recover. A little bit high for a little while longer won't hurt you while you rebuild your faith :)
