#Damuls is probably the most popular #ski resort in #Bregenzerwald. On our first visit in December we drove up before the #Mellau connection was open. Lots of steep red runs and good views.
#Warth, at the eastern end of #Bregenzerwald, is probably the best entry point to the #SkiArlberg region. Easy access to #Lech#Zurs. We found #Warth had more and better snow on the pistes, far less people and great piste variety. Better prices too.
Fun skiing the surprisingly good runs at the small resort of #Hochhaderich in #Bregenzerwald. We admired the views and headed off for a walk in the snow across the border to the #Allgau in #Germany. Honour-system #beer sales for the thirsty!
We set off on #Sulzberg’s winter hiking path after the first big snowfall, before the track was cleared. Great views over the northern #Bregenzerwald . At 1000m the snow was deep so we didn’t get too far. But it definitely was another fun day trip!
We love #Bezau in #Vorarlberg’s #Bregenzerwald region. We walked around the village in a snowstorm, finding a small #dairy farmer’s outlet attached to home and barn. Self-service, honour-system payment. Bought delicious #cheese, tempted by home-made cakes. Love to buy local!
In #Bregenzerwald we explored quite a few small to medium sized #ski resorts. The first resort, open from early December, was #Boedele, the “Hausberg” of the #Rhine Valley towns, just 30 mins from #Bregenz. Heavy snow meant great powder and few people.
