"I don't want to talk about Pastor Adeboye because do you know what it means to be a pastor? A pastor should rebuke a bรฅd government, they don't benefit from it. I'm disappointed with our own set of pastors. My generation feels like a failure. The way I'm angry, eehhh.
Our politicians are lavishing our resources, yet we keep praising them with the same resources we sent them to manage for us. Every politician is there to represent the citizens, serve the people, and remain accountable to them.
We don't know our rights in this country. They use our money to send their children and relatives abroad to study while ordinary Nigerians continue to suffer. That's why they go after people like Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who speaks against them."

July 10, 1999, at Obafemi Awolowo University, Black Axe brutally murdered George Iwilade (Afrika) and four others in cold blood.
George Iwilade, a.k.a "Afrika" 21-year-old, 300-level Law student and Secretary-General of the Student Union was a fearless, brilliant student and easily recognized for his traditional attire.
He openly fought against cultism on campus.
Afrika led the raid in school were Black axe was gathering, they seized guns, axe, dagger, black clothing and regalia of the Black Axe confraternity.
The nine students were handed to the university authorities and the local police. The suspects were discharged and acquitted by a magistrate court after the evidence mysteriously went missing during the trial.
Then came the revenge:- Friday night, July 9, 1999, thousands of Kegites from other universities across Nigeria gathered at the OAU campus for their festival.
The crowd was massive. There was loud singing, drumming, and palm wine drinking. 40 masked Black Axe members wearing black used this opportunity to enter the campus unnoticed.
By 3-4 a.m, July 10 , They entered the students hostel shouting the names of specific student union leaders, firing guns.
They entered Awolowo hall, Room 273, Block 8, Africa was shot on head in the bed while sleeping and repeatedly cut with an axe, leaving him with no chance of survival.
They searched for the SUG President Lanre Adeleke ("Legacy"), who escaped through the balcony.
Four innocent students were killed, Eviano Ekelemu - a 400-level medical student who met them on the way, Babatunde Oke, Efe Ekpede and Yemi Ajiteru, a graduating student who only returned to campus to clear his carryover.
This is one of the darkest chapters in the history of Nigerian universities which brought the country to a standstill.
Today is 27 years and every July 10, students, alumni, and civil society groups organize candlelight processions, symposiums, and remembrance marches for the OAU 5.
George Iwilade "Afrika" lost his life but his story continues to inspire generations of OAU students.

Of course itโd go viral and Instablog would post it.
But theyโll never post the video I made about how Nigeria has the potential to become a global maritime player.

Madame Celeste Amarilla,
โI would call him Napoleon, but Napoleon made his way to empire over broken oaths and through a sea of blood. This man never broke his word. I would call him Cromwell, but Cromwell was only a soldier, and the state he founded went down with him into his grave. I would call him Washington, but the great Virginian held slaves. This man risked his empire rather than permit the slave trade in the humblest village of his dominions. You think me a fanatic, for you read history, not with your eyes, but with your prejudices. But fifty years hence, when Truth gets a hearing, the Muse of history will put Phocion for the Greek, Brutus for the Roman, Hampden for the English, La Fayette for France, choose Washington as the bright, consummate flower of our earlier civilization, then, dipping her pen in the sunlight, will write in the clear blue, above them all, the name of the soldier, the statesman, the martyr, Toussaint LโOuverture.โ

West Africa has 16 countries, hundreds of ethnic groups, and architectural traditions that predate every colonial contact on this continent. This thread documents the building techniques that came out of this region, what materials they used, what climate problems they solved, and how they can be refined rather than replaced.
The various techniques from North, East, Central and South Africa will be shared in the coming days.
