The truth is, we are as deserving of hell as those who mocked the Last Supper.

Our righteousness comes from Christ, not ourselves.

If you feel prideful and self-righteous, it’s a sign you aren’t truly convicted of your own sin and need to repent and humble yourself before God.

This understanding lays the foundation for a genuine, loving desire to share the Gospel with them.

If you say, “The Gospel can’t save them,” you are denying the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, which may even verge on blaspheming the Holy Spirit—something Jesus says is unforgivable.

In doing so, you place yourself in a worse position than those you judge.

So don’t be like the Pharisee in Luke 18, pridefully thanking God that you aren’t like “those people.”

Instead, be like the tax collector who wouldn’t even look up to heaven but beat his breast, saying, “Lord, forgive me, a sinner.”
