5 ways Tether Gold (XAUT) can have a fund loss 🧵
Gold is regarded as a safe-haven asset, but our analysis suggests otherwise about XAUT with counterparty risks, and hidden legal clauses👇

An audit, a fuzzing run, and a formal proof do different things.
Our new guide compares what each one catches, what a clean result actually tells you, and where its guarantees stop.
Second in our formal verification series for the people who approve the budget and carry the risk.

The Shutter DAO 0x36 Impact Pilot grant has 7 categories for submissions, let's look at the 1st👇
#1 Identify an opportunity for Shutter’s encrypted-mempool integration with a wallet, dApp, RPC provider, routing service, chain, validator ecosystem
💰 $1k–$3k

The current state:
Only 2 of 11 protocols - @TornadoCash and @RAILGUN_Project - are green against every adversary that exists today.
The privileged insider is where 7 of the rest break.
CeFi stables help Wall Street
DeFi stables help @Ethereum ⛓️
0.5% → 5% market share for DeFi stables = $15B pulled onchain from TradFi.
AND you get:
- More censorship resistance
- Increased demand for $ETH
Back the stables that back Ethereum, eg:
$BOLD
$fxUSD
$crvUSD
The five adversaries:
👁 Public observer - anyone reading the chain through a block explorer
🔍 Chain analyst - someone who scrapes all the data and uses clustering, timing, heuristics
🌐 Network observer - your RPC, relayer, ISP, the frontend
🔑 Privileged insider - protocol operators, governance, admin view keys
⏳ Future adversary - quantum computers, someone who has all historical data
The @ethereumfndn has awarded cp0x a grant to build an open-source tool for comparing DeFi risk assessments. We are starting work and invite the community to contribute ideas, data, corrections and code here or on github: https://t.co/TIBsHVS2P1
Ethereum security cannot only depend on finding bugs after the fact.
This Thursday, TheDAO’s Ethereum Security Space is back to talk formal verification, and how proving critical code behaves as intended can help make Ethereum safer.

Much of what CLARITY attempted to fix, can be self regulated and enforced. In fact, it's exactly the value proposition blockchains and smart-contracts offer.
Immutability, automation, and decentralisation all protect consumers and token holders through trust/control-minimization. There are examples in the wild: @LidoFinance's optimistic dual governance. @Morpho's immutability. @MetaDAOProject ownership token launches. @SteakhouseFi guardians built on @AragonProject. There are more examples.
Network & ownership tokens can be validated and requested at https://t.co/Gm3KksxScY so investors can make educated decisions. @l2beat and @defiscan_info
provide trust assumptions on chains and protocols.
CLARITY not passing is short-term negative, but, these are solvable problems and the market will weed out the bad actors. Aragon has dedicated much of its history to providing tools just to solve these problems.
If we want this industry to grow then it's up to us to double down on what the spirit of CLARITY offered and simply use the tools we have at our fingertips.
A big thank you to all those who pushed for our industry, for the good actors, and to drive adoption. I'm sure the battle isn't over on the policy front, but it's time for the builders to do what we need to do.
The Commission's targeted MiCA consultation closes soon, and it will decide how DeFi is treated in Europe: how decentralisation gets assessed, when an identifiable intermediary exists, and what falls outside the perimeter entirely. The team at @EuEthInstitute has been working through it this summer.
On Tuesday 1 September at 15:00-16:30 CET we're opening it up at “MiCA & DeFi: A Community Conversation”, a working call for protocols, developers, service providers and anyone planning to respond.
Wallet address Privacy
Is your wallet address linkable to other information about yourself?
Your wallet address is permanent and publicly visible. The more personal information linked to it, the easier it becomes to track your activity across apps, devices, and services. A private wallet minimizes that linkability.
