It looks like @Bedrock_DeFi $uniBTC was just exploited.

THE BAD NEWS: when LRTs and LSTs are exploited via minting function, the liquidity pools are the hit hardest.

Typically, millions of the derivative are minted and dumped into their LPs to drain them of the counter-asset.

THE GOOD NEWS: typically, when these exploits occur, all of the BTC backing the derivative (uniBTC) is left unscathed.

As far as I can tell, this is the case here as well.

WHAT USUALLY HAPPENS in these cases is the team takes a pre-exploit snapshot of holders and then re-issues a new token representing the BTC that backed the exploited uniBTC asset.

Occasionally there are attempts to make whole the LPs, but that comes at a direct cost to the protocol.
