Just saw an Instagram reel that said:
“At some point you become the age that your parents were in your childhood memories, only you don’t feel like an adult, and you realize your parents were still just kids trying to figure it out too”
And that shit just fucked me up.
My greatest disappointment in adulthood was realizing evil people don’t always get punished. Sometimes they get promoted, become CEOs, win elections, gain power, and get invited to sit at tables where good people are told to wait their turn.
Full grown adults that can’t swim, cycle, skate, backpack, take a gap year, vacation, play an instrument or speak multiple foreign languages. Just a lifetime of hustling and trying to leave survival mode. These are subtle poverty metrics that no one really talks about
Effective communication, every day, please. We’re too grown for confusion, mixed signals, assumptions, and unnecessary misunderstandings. Say what you mean, mean what you say, and communicate when something changes.
Replying fast doesn’t make you desperate. It means you saw the message and wanted to reply. Stop turning basic communication into a power game. If you like someone, talk to them. Making people wait just to look “busy” isn’t attractive. It’s insecurity dressed up as confidence.
Some people never apologize. They just start acting normal and hope you forget. That’s not peace. That’s avoidance. Stop rewarding people who refuse to take accountability.
