As drafted, congress cannot enact that law and you know it. Constitution limits what they can legislate. That's why Roe was a fudge - if congress could have they'd have done it already.

@KamalaHarris This is so disingenuous. You know there are constitutional bars to congress legislating about this. At a push they could legislate for abortions covered by medicaid. But that law wld likely be sent to SCOTUS. There will be no law for you to sign, no matter how reasonable.

@KamalaHarris Very clear. He said he would not sign a national ban, and some states were too restrictive but it's constitutionally a states rights issue so the people of those states would and should push for those laws to be replaced with more lenient rules and access. So yes: he's very clear

@implausibleblog Tbf their numbers include some individuals who are actually economic migrants, some of whom attempt to claim asylum knowing they don't qualify because it is wrongly perceived as easier than a visa. Migrant is a more generic term that comprises all such instances and permutations.
