Day 6 @PrisonsWeek
A day in prison can feel like a week! Chaplains are at the centre of it.
๐ for those who serve their God in prison. For inter faith relationships. For those who are discerning the call to serve God in this way.

Day 5 @PrisonsWeek
Many in prison are fearful to be released into the community, not having enough support for the transition.

Day 4 @PrisonsWeek
I have been a victim of a crime. At times it makes me feel alone.
So today ๐ for victims of crime. For their support networks who support them through their trauma. May they know that God sees them and loves them.
#prisonsweek#churchofengland#chaplain#pray
As we mark #PrisonsWeek, each day brings a new prayer, focusing on a different group affected by the prison or criminal justice system. Join us in prayer and reflectionโdiscover today's prayer here.

Day 2 @PrisonsWeek
Jesus tells Zacchaeus he is coming to his house. ๐ that all church communities maybe the places of welcome for all. We give thanks for @welcome_dir who work with faith communities to be ready to receive prison leavers.

'Lord, you offer freedom to all people. We pray for those in prison. Break the bonds of fear and isolation that exist. Support, with your love, prisoners and their families and friends, prison staff and all who care. Heal those who have been wounded by the actions of others, especially the victims of crime. Help us to forgive one another, to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly together with Christ in his strength and in his Spirit, now and every day. Amen.'

'God and Heavenly Father, please show us how we can give freely and willingly of what we possess, including our time, to serve and support those you love and care about connected with the prison system โ prisoners, their families, victims of crime and those who serve in prisons as officers, chaplains and in many other ways. Always remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, that โit is more blessed to give than to receiveโ. Amen.'

Day 1 @PrisonsWeek In the Gospel today Jesus says no one is good but God. All sin but the sins of those in prisons are much more public than others. ๐ those who are affected by them: victims, families, prison workers.

Itโs that time of year! A plea for any #priest colleagues who can offer a weekday mass during this years #PrisonsWeek please. Prisons and those affected by them should not be out of our sight or mind. Reconciliation is the heart of the gospel. #pray#prisons#churchofengland
@ClergySupportUK@hmpps Thank you for the continued help you give me. Being a single person and in prison chaplaincy things for the last few years have been super super tight. You have made it that bit easier allowing me to having a short break away these last 2 years. #thankyou
