@planbparaguay Congratulations my friend, massive achievement! After seeing the work firsthand last October I know how much effort you and your crew put in. Really happy for you.
@TheLatamGuy I have a similar route every day, from Barranco through Chorillos to a private school. It's not like Medellin with the cable cars, if you live on the hills you are doing a stairmaster session every morning!
@hispanicnomad Santa Cruz DL Sierra is fantastic. Great little airport. Friendly people and rich in culture. Looking forward to getting back there for an extended time. Easy flight from Lima too for me.
I have found this to be exactly the same when you compare Peru and New Zealand.
I have exactly the same if not better standard of living in Lima and it costs me 50% of what it cost me in Auckland.
Pros and cons to each environment but it definitely frees up capital to deploy elsewhere.
@Colinismblog@shagbark_hick That's something I'd love to learn how to do.
Going to need that in my small homestead in Paraguay.
Any good pointers on where to find the information to learn those skills?
Thanks
@LargeFamDad I read something once that really stuck with me.
' if You don't have children, the second half of your life will be about death."
Going to funerals, watching friends and family pass without children or grandchildren.
Being a parent is the best.
Definitely go with the future option.
My dad moved my sister and I to New Zealand from London in 1985, against all wishes of our extended family, even my mum was not keen.
I thank him frequently for that foresight...it gave us so many opportunities we would not have otherwise had.
I've always seen the rental income from investment property as somewhat of a hedge against inflation because you are always earning in 'today's dollars ' but never thought to think about the fact that inflation is also reducing the value of any loans you might have against that same property.
Thanks for providing an interesting new perspective.
@WifiMoneyPlant High IQ behaviour.
Pretty certain I've read an article by @BowTiedBull where they dive into this.
Need for constant noise, music and inability to sit with silence= low IQ.
