@DerekPederson3 I thought the villains made no sense for the story being told and severely detracted from the quality. This is not a story where you can have the antagonists be bumbling non-lethal shmucks who let the heroes get away 5 times. No sense of stakes
@Hamsterpilled_@DraganStoa32685 You live in a delusion if you think ANY group of young, disadvantaged women in their 20s "don't care about money, status, or looks". It's like saying "men here don't care about sex", just such an absurd lie.
@HappyMantShrimp Look man, anything is better than now, where everyone's a total psychopath trying to get each other sent to prison over political feuds.
@musachaudhry01 Everyone in the world mocking Michael Bay for being a terrible filmmaker has made contrarians forget that he is, in fact, a terrible filmmaker.
@piperocktheory Man, I just watched the movie, the room is supposed be a simulation of her room at night, she's literally next to a lamp that's contrasting the darkness right next to it. The entire room is DARK.
@joshposting_why@joshdiaz777 That was the one part I liked? Like it was obviously a jab at the "phone goes directly under the car tire instantly" cliche and showing how two total average joes would react when told "DESTROY YOUR PHONE NOW!!!!!"
@davidrazi@FanAkko@LumpyTheCook I think people should be incentivized to go out of their way to look for media they like instead of needing popular outlets to walk them through it. I love Wendigoon, but he's done this for a lot of media I knew previously, and I'm not gatekeepy at all, but still. It's strange
@hula_hoopla@ArthurKolchak Pretty certain the party scene was there to make it clear that the "average" person is not as cowardly as Bear and that there's something mentally wrong with him
@bhangbhangducx The first one isn't, the second one is. I would never show my children a movie that has a home invader beat a young couple to death while they're having sex.
@ReactionaryLuma@HALOSHILL Talk to Jaimie Grissemer on Twitter (himself an extremely right-wing man) and he'll tell you, directly, that you are reading way too much intent into the work of a bunch of largely apolitical men in their 20s and 30s. Marty was the exception and they have specified as much.
@Torin7850@lmao466367@ReactionaryLuma It's an amalgamation of Abrahamic features that came from the secular and cynical environment of the early 2000s. There is an element of true faith being "rediscovered", yes, but to call it fundamentally left or right wing is a low IQ power play for morons arguing in bad faith
@predator467 I love watching a detective noir throwback suddenly become a gladiator movie that then becomes a CGI war movie and definitely has nothing to do with the runaway successes of Gladiator and Blackhawk down the previous two years prior π
@TSoS_ The only time I ever felt bored was the wedding in S2. I understood what was happening, but there needed to be more than family drama intersped with a blackmail plot. You can do a lot with a wedding
