The Niagara Ironbacks might be the newest team in the PGCBL, but St. Catharines and George Taylor Field are no strangers to high quality baseball.

The St. Catharines Blue Jays and St. Catharines Stompers called George Taylor Field home from 1986-1999 as the Toronto Blue Jays affiliate in the New York-Penn League, winning the championship in 1986…(1/2)

Welcome the newest team to the PGCBL, the Niagara Ironbacks!

Playing at George Taylor Field in St. Catharines, Ontario the Ironbacks will be the first Canadian team in the PGCBL.

Team owner Mal Romanin introduced the new team name at a press conference saying “we were looking for something with strength and resilience that had some representation of the people and the blue collar aspect of this city.”

The @ironbacks will open the season June 5th on the road at Jamestown and play their first home game on June 7th against the Niagara Falls Americans.
