@yvlmoneyspread@QC_Gab_@Press_X_Fool Its coz of the handholding. Lets look at another Sony game, TLOU2. Now this is a linear game too but it did drop you into these big open areas but it trusted you enough to follow the clues and explore for yourself. In Wolverine, it seems like its disrespecting the player’s IQ.
@BigShellJanitor@OGG1993 maybe check what he was talking about when he said this. what I mentioned arent feelings, he literally said its his return to the Tactical Espionage Action genre
@yvlmoneyspread@QC_Gab_@Press_X_Fool one is an open world multiplayer driving game and the linear action game. that statement alone should be enough for you to comprehend the difference
@BigShellJanitor@OGG1993 what? The game is literally described as a return to Kojima’s roots in Tactical Espionage Action and the next stage in that genre ie an evolution of MGS so there is more reason to believe that this has much more mainstream appeal than DS than to say it could be niche wtf lol.
@TheTereDie@nyc_prophet no never in this conversation have i stated I blindly follow anything or that I follow critics. I don’t really, i play the games that look like my jam simple as that. Its funny coz you’re actually the one blindly saying critics are paid when nothing of the sort has been proven.
@TheTereDie@nyc_prophet its a simple ask tho. you call them paid. show me the transactions between these critics and whatever shady party you believe is paying them.
@GoodTribeGaming@mauszx@BaillBron exactly my point. one new IP failing is all it took for Bungie to lose all autonomy and lose the future of Destiny, the IP that has defined them for over a decade. so my argument against the og post remains: what talented team, IP and knowledge did Sony gain for $3.6B?
@LeftyTalk@EvilAndre@THEMILKY92 I honestly believe that Xbox underestimated how much time and work it takes to build a AAA level studio from the ground up to work on an expensive game. They probably tried to fast track the game by bringing in CD but ig it just wasn’t enough
@BigShellJanitor@OGG1993 Those were responses to your budget and milestones argument. Your inability to comprehend here is insane. A stealth-action espionage game is not a niche genre like Death Stranding either and being from the creator that pioneered the genre means a greater chance for success
@BigShellJanitor@OGG1993 what is a good return tho, Both games are games very niche in their appeal, expecting insane sales numbers was idiotic. And again, it goes against what PlayStation stood for.
@BigShellJanitor@OGG1993 Im not talking about games that haven’t come out but the two games I mentioned are actually great going by general consensus so there is no denying that it paid of
@BigShellJanitor@OGG1993 And then went on to become a greedy shitty corpo that completely pivoted to mobile games and pachinko machines. Sony on the other hand, has forgotten its own identity in chase of profits. They first and foremost believed in games that went against the tide not how much they sold.
