Congratulations, Victoria.
Ninety per cent of us 12 and over are now fully vaccinated. It’s been an amazing community effort, so thank you to every Victorian who got vaccinated, as well as our nurses, health clinicians, GPs and pharmacists.
@ExpressionAus and @DeafVictoria are pleased to receive funding from the @VicGovDH to support deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing people getting vaccinated against COVID-19.
We are seeking 2 Vaccination Outreach Officers.

3. What other COVID-19 topics would you like to see explained in Auslan? (3/3)
You may have seen a press conference today without an Auslan Interpreter. However, Martin Foley MP made a statement at the start of the press conference. (1/3)
This is a good first step in recognising that there was a gap with today’s press conference and making alternate arrangement to keep our community informed. @ExpressionAus will release the Auslan summary update later today. (3/4)

TRANSCRIPT: “Thank you for coming along. First can I just apologise that we don’t have an Auslan interpreter here today. Unfortunately, they weren’t available however a recorded Auslan translation will be made available online following this media conference.”
All emergency pressers, especially with @vicemergency @CommissionerEMV, should be accessible for all including those who use Auslan. Broadcasters have an obligation to ensure the Auslan interpreter is visible and within frame.
At this very moment, a presser with @JamesMerlinoMP & @DannyPearsonMP is being broadcasted live in Gippsland. There is an Auslan interpreter on-site yet they have been cut out of frame by @abcnews@abcmelbourne.
The advisory note from @FreeTVAustralia regarding emergency broadcasts states when there is an Auslan interpreter on-site, broadcasters are to include them within frame.
More than 12 months into the pandemic, we are still fighting for our basic human right to have access to information? This is not good enough. Expect more formal letters of complaint. 3/3

None of you made sure the Auslan interpreter was within frame during today's presser through your television and online channels. @acmadotgov states that Auslan interpreters must be visible for emergency announcements. 2/3
