A 55 years old female named Shantilata Nayak from Kanchudu Village found a ray of hope in MKCG MCH when she underwent CABG surgery for Wellens’ syndrome entirely free of cost on 25/11/2025. Before the surgery she could barely do her household chores due to fatigue.
Comprised of Dr Jagdeep Nayak, Dr Baryon Swain, Dr Pradipta, Dr Paridhi, Dr Nibedita, Dr Subhan , Sister Manaswini and many other Health care personnels.
This is the first time CABG ( a major cardiac surgery) was performed at MKCG MCH since its inception.
Pink Ribbon's Day was celebrated in the Department of General Surgery on 25 October to observe the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Students deliberated on the Evolution of Breast Cancer Surgery and methods to create awareness in the society about breast Cancer.

After a gap of about 25 years, Open Heart Surgery has been re-started at CTVS Dept. of MKCG MCH. ASD pericardial patch closure under cardiopulmonary bypass( CPB) was done on Dt 11.6.25 in this patient and she has been discharged today.
A big salute to all MKCG Health Care personnel for saving the life of a tribal patient from remote malkangiri village through efficient team work.

A patient Tripati Muduli from Malkangiri was admitted in MKCG Casualty on 09/06/2025 with an arrow lodged in his chest. The arrow had pierced his chest from anterior chest wall and was lodged in the thoracic cavity.
The surgery team led by Dr Sarada and Anaesthesia team led by Dr Siba Prasad Dash and Dr Jagdeep Nayak ensured this surgery of over 3 hours went smoothly. The patient is recovering well.
