This is how sly fox Andrea bypassed a simple question about the racial composition at IDAC during her Adhoc testimony.

When asked a straightforward question about the racial representativity and diversity of the core investigating team, she deflected by saying there is a spreadsheet somewhere, instead of simply admitting that she employs only people of her own race in investigative roles.

Sentencing Bashir, Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb told him that by August last year he had become a "firmly committed jihadist".

He and Al-Shamie were "equally engaged" in planning an attack on a British military target "in which you and he expected to kill and be killed", she said.

She rejected his claim to a probation officer that he no longer held extremist views and regretted his actions.

The judge said: "I consider you remain dangerous. You have given no grounds that your attitude has really changed at all."

Mohammad Bashir, 31, drove his friend Jihad Al-Shamie on a 10-hour round trip to conduct hostile reconnaissance at the UK's Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire, on 14 August 2025.

Weeks after that journey, Al-Shamie, 35, was shot dead by police after carrying out the Heaton Park Synagogue attack, in which two Jewish men were killed.

Bashir, from Cheetham Hill, was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court after pleading guilty to one count of preparing an act of terrorism.

Personally I think terrorists of this kind should never be released into the public as the threat they pose to innocent troops and civilians alike carries too great a risk of mass murder.

Operation PROSPER: 717 Arrested in Nationwide Crime Crackdown:

A joint SAPS and SANDF Operation PROSPER conducted between 1 and 22 July 2026 led to the arrest of 717 suspects across multiple provinces in a major crackdown on illegal mining, organised crime, gang violence and drug trafficking.

Key results include:

717 suspects arrested, including:

265 for immigration offences,

213 for drug-related crimes,

15 for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition,

26 for possession of dangerous weapons
1 for murder,

181 for other serious offences, including robbery, assault and vehicle theft,

24 illegal firearms and 1,928 rounds of ammunition seized.

Police also confiscated 14 commercial explosives, a landmine, precious metals, gold-bearing material, two stolen vehicles, and drugs including heroin, mandrax, CAT and dagga.

Illegal mining equipment seized included 59 generators, 28 jackhammers, 26 crushers, 14 stampers, 11 water pumps, nine oxygen cylinders and six phendukas.

Provincial highlights:

Gauteng: More than 150 suspects arrested at Losberg Kloof Mine in Westonaria, while over 50 undocumented foreign nationals were arrested in Springs.

Free State: Twelve suspects arrested during operations in Welkom, Allanridge, Odendaalsrus and Theunissen, with gold-bearing material and dagga recovered.

Eastern Cape and Western Cape: Anti-gang operations recovered several illegal firearms and ammunition, while drug raids in Bellville and Hanover Park resulted in arrests and the seizure of cocaine, crystal meth, mandrax, ecstasy and heroin.

The statement also honoured four SANDF members who died during Operation PROSPER earlier this month, with a memorial service held in Soweto on 23 July 2026.
