Children need good role models in all aspects of life. Sometimes as a #militarykid it can be difficult to find those models with frequent moves and separations from parents. Operation Teammate is trying to change that. Listen to Ep: 83 now! https://t.co/mfoXtZcVku
Shows me that we are on our own in this situation for the foreseeable future. WE were doing a much better job coming up with our own learning plan. & you can take that Blackboard 24/7 plan too. Hasn’t been updated in weeks! Another resource for families, yeah right. What a joke.
Anxiety about this whole pandemic under control. School districts around the country have already successfully rolled out virtual learning. While FCPS is now 6 weeks behind. And we’re supposed to be one of the best! Your lack of thought about neurodiverse students and their needs
Starting and stopping his virtual learning with his teacher and class are making this a nightmare for our family. Just when he gets used to the interface you mess with his schedule and routine AGAIN. To stop synchronous learning AGAIN like this makes it even harder to get his 2/4
@fcpsnews@FCPSSupt Absolute worst possible roll out of distance learning ever. I can only imagine what “neurotypical” stud dents are going through. But those of us with “special ed” students it’s 100x worse! My son has Autism. Autistic NEED consistency. You continuously 1/4
It’s just despicable that we still don’t have an answer about this from you. Is this how veterans feel about getting treatment at the VA? Forgotten? Do the right thing and approve #ABATelemedicineNow
My pregnancy alone AND give birth alone while my husband was deployed. I felt abandoned then. And you’re abandoning us again. The military says “never leave a man behind,” but they don’t mean it. They just mean the ones who are neurotypical or the ones not expensive to treat13/26
#SocialDistancing yes is what we need to do, but we also need continuity of care. You’re not delivering on that part. You should be ashamed @DoDHealth that you’re treating military families like this. We deserve better! After I had to go through the majority of 12/26
With children with autism behind. PT/OT/Speech have all been approved. I still don’t quite understand how physical therapy can be done over telemedicine but #ABATelemedicineNOW can not. Someone please explain this why this isn’t an option to me. 11/26
@DoDHealth@GenDaveGoldfein@EsperDoD I’m pretty sure the service member’s who’s family member is not getting #ABATeleMedicineNow are not “mission ready” don’t you agree? I thought the military was about taking care of each other. You’re leaving military families 10/26
@DoDHealth when can we expect a decision? Two weeks isn’t long enough to decide whether to pay for something? You do know that @zoom_us has the capability for hippa compliant #ABATelemedicineNow sessions. It can be done believe it or not 9/26
This is not the time to be moving slowly. You need to move quickly before you seriously damage our children. You are supposed to be taking care of service members and their families and you’re failing those who need #ABATelemedicineNow 8/26
@DoDHealth are you going to have our children wait ANOTHER week for continuity of care? I don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but you have bigger things to worry about with #COVID19 pandemic than paying for kids with autism getting #ABATelemedicineNow 7/26
The least you could cover for #ABATelemedicineNOW@DoDHealth is parent guidance from the BCBA. Gives us something here. You can’t just totally and completely cut them off from it like this. It’s just not right how you are playing with kids’ well beings like this. 6/26
You have other things that should be taking up your time right now with the #COVID19 pandemic and community spread in the US. Make the right decision and open up #ABATelemedicineNOW and take care of your special needs military families. 5/26
offices has not responded to my requests for help. Who am I supposed to turn to to get help? We're just swinging in the wind waiting for you to make a decision @DoDHealth Do the right thing and open up #ABATelemedicineNOW Our families need your help! 4/26
Our special needs military families deserve to get continuity of care even during this extraordinary time. Please explain why #ABATelemedicineNOW is not feasible. Please explain why it can't be done on a case by case basis. Please explain why no one from my congressmen's 3/26
emailed, and tweeted with no response. Our children cannot wait forever. Every day that goes by without a decision for you makes the anxiety go up and coping skills go down. We need to hear from you @DoDHealth Do the right thing and cover #ABATelemedicineNOW 2/26
“Good ABA programs for autism are not "one size fits all." ABA should not be viewed as a canned set of drills. Rather, each program is written to meet the needs of the individual learner.” 19/26 #ABATelemedicineNOW
“The goal of any ABA program is to help each person work on skills that will help them become more independent and successful in the short term as well as in the future.” I am not seeing information from these sites that would make ABA difficult to do over #Telemedicine 20/26
