In Dec 2023, govt hurried a new telecom law. It allowed satellite spectrum to be given through an administrative order, not auctions.
Only one company has cleared the first two hurdles in getting satellite spectrum. OneWeb India - linked to Bharti Enterprises. And as this was happening, Bharti gave Rs 150 cr in bonds to BJP. https://t.co/DJE1YJuZVn
Read how the “Modi Gov’t Allowed BJP to Illegally Encash Expired Electoral Bonds” at the Reporters Collective’s Electoral Bonds Tracker https://t.co/ciA2Woc95Y
Give due credit to Poonam Agarwal, who back in 2018 as a journalist with The Quint, bought an electoral bond for Rs 1000 to do an investigative story. She had a forensic test done on the bond which revealed a unique number. This unique number has enabled data journalists to connect the purchaser of the bond to the party that received and encashed it. Watch this interview with Ms Agarwal in The News Minute https://t.co/ToAwkvZMHi and read this report in The Wire: https://t.co/avtFDu6lu5. And finally, “using the unique numbers of each bond, The Hindu has matched the name of the purchaser to the party that encashed it. The date of purchase, the amount of the bond and the date of encashment is also listed for each bond.” https://t.co/DrhDLWPviu
Commend the firm and fitting response from The Music Academy and its President to the bigoted, casteist objections by a small coterie of set-up Carnatic musicians who can’t stomach the choice of an eminent, widely acclaimed, erudite, and articulate musician for the highest accolade in Carnatic music. If T. M. Krishna doesn’t deserve the Sangita Kalanidhi honour, then who does? And what explains Ranjani-Gayatri’s wild and scurrilous attack — charged with venom and demonstrable falsehoods — on Periyar Ramasamy (1879-1973), the father of the Self-Respect Movement in Tamil Nadu and a champion of women’s equality and rights? Who put them up to this?

On 11 April 23, Megha Engineering gives 100s Crs in #ElectoralBonds to whom? But within a month it gets a 14,400 cr contract from BJP’s Mah govt! Though SBI has hidden Bond numbers from the info, some of donors & parties match can be guessed. Most donations seem a quid pro quo
