The United States commercial fishermen in small scale fisheries have been, and are currently being regulated out of business forcing the purchase of imported seafood.

Things like this are why there's such a shortage of aspiring young fishermen/women. Does anyone still know of a child or adolescent who wants to follow in the family tradition of commercial fishing?

Thank you for supporting local fishermen ! The NC Shrimp Fleet is a hard-working bunch that fish from VA to NC and as far south as Georigia. These guys are small businesses that operate their own vessels. Having a fish house to unload their catch is a crucial aspect of small-scale fisheries. These local fish houses distribute the catch to suppliers, making it available to restaurants and fish markets.
