Just found out that a good friend of mine who was working on an upcoming title for the past 6 years of his life, has had his funding pulled and the very small indie development company has shut down.

Purely because the Early Access title on steam received negative reviews from people because "It was full of bugs". Bugs that hardly any of the 121,000 people who purchased the game didn't even send any feedback to help tackle the problems.

I'm not going to mention the game, or the developers. It's not important. But I honestly feel that the Early Access section of steam needs something different than the regular "Thumbs up, thumbs down" meta that is relevant for full release games.

When you purchase an Early Access game, you are paying for the privilege to actively test the game, and be PART of the development process. You can choose NOT to be part of it, that's fine. But think twice before leaving that thumbs down review because you got a few crashes.

A feedback section is what's needed, removing the upvote/downvote system. Just an area to talk about what you like or dislike about the game. If you cannot be bothered to read through peoples views on the games and just base your opinion on "Mostly Positive" or "Mostly Negative". You're probably not the right person to invest money in Early Access.
