@agranddavid A Linear Interpolate. It blends two inputs based on the value of third, alpha value. So if red and blue were inputs, an alpha value of 0 = red, 1=blue, 0.5 =purple.

In this way, the highlight colour, it's brightness and even whether or not it highlights at all, can all be controlled by the player, to their taste.

The function modifies the initial values of material, swapping the surface colour of the model for the highlight colour and illuminating, so it can be seen in dark areas.

In the construction script of the blueprint for the highlight object, the material is set up as a material instance, so it can be edited in play.

In the object's material, the texture map is added to a Lerp with a vector parameter 'HighlightColour'. A scalar parameter 'Texture' is used as the alpha. The output is passed to the BaseColour slot.
