That girl is a young graduate, very new to the corporate world. She was following the books to the letter, made a mistake, was corrected and she applied it immediately.

It was an unfortunate error of doing exactly what you were told, while forgetting the context of the country she’s in…which is another topic, but hey.

We all made mistakes starting out, in different other ways. Some of us even made worse mistakes, it just wasn’t televised.

“She’s rude”
“She doesn’t have sense”
“She doesn’t have home training”
“She can’t go far”
“She won’t make it”

Whew. It was a mistake. Simple. Let it go.

It doesn’t deserve all these think pieces. You don’t even know her enough to say all the things all of you are saying about her.

That’s why @Tunde_OD, @hackSultan and I are launching a ₦250 Million Scholarship Fund to help recent graduates gain real, in-demand tech skills that lead to jobs.

Each successful applicant will receive a ₦160,000 scholarship towards a 9–12 month AltSchool Africa diploma in any course of their choice. Beyond technical training, participants will also receive career support and internship/job opportunities through Jobs59.
