THREE GREYHOUNDS KILLED AT THE CANNINGTON TRACK in WA LAST NIGHT
Racing at Mandurah and Cannington tracks in Western Australia must be suspended immediately. Ten greyhounds have now died on each track this year, with both now sharing first place for the most deaths on any track in the country (does not include greyhounds later killed in days or weeks after suffering injuries)
Footage below shows each of the falls. The first part shows 2 greyhounds falling - the greyhound in blue (no 4) was apparently not injured, all others were killed soon after.
Rest in Peace 🤍Smile Time

Cocaine worth $170m was smuggled into WA on live export ship Al Kuwait. Chief officer charged after drugs dropped into ocean en-route to Fremantle.
Days later I took these pics of sheep being loaded as police searched the ship. Sailed as usual for Mid East.
For years, the NSPCA has fought to shield animals from the immense suffering inherent in the live export trade.
Today’s judgment from the High Court in Makhanda marks a crucial step forward in that fight.

@NSPCA_SA This is fantastic news, well done! SO glad you will be able to continue your crucial work protecting animals that desperately need it in this appalling cruel trade. #BanLiveExport
🚨NEWS🚨
Live export horror for ~3,000 cattle stranded at sea for over 60 days now. Over 50 animals already dead. 140 calves born onboard, but many have disappeared. 💔🐄🚢
This is not an isolated incident, but it’s a devastating example why we must #BanLiveExport! 🚫
💔 Still stranded. Another 30 days at sea. The live export ship Spiridon II left #Uruguay for #Türkye with 2,900 cows, half of them pregnant. Two months later, they’re still trapped on board.
In that time:
🐄 58 cows have died
🐄 140 pregnant cows gave birth or lost their calves
🐄 50 calves are reportedly on board, the fate of the remaining 90 is unknown
Reports say dead bodies are still aboard, putrid and leaking, and feed is likely gone. The animals on board are likely suffering from exhaustion, heat stress, starvation, and disease in filthy conditions. Heartbreakingly, the ship is now turning back for another 30-day voyage back to Uruguay as it was blocked from unloading in Türkiye due to an administrative issue.
This is one of the worst live export disasters since MV Bahijah (2024) and MV Gulf Livestock 1 (2020). It’s a stark reminder that the barbaric live export trade must be banished to the history books of shame.
Together, we are urgently calling on the Turkish authorities to unload the animals to prevent further suffering.💔

@philip_ciwf@TheSun This horror should end the stinking trade in cruelty that is live export 🤬 The unimaginable hell these animals are suffering could happen with any shipment. Australia recently sent 5000 pregnant cows to Türkiye, could have happened to them 🤬 #BanLiveExport

NSW HORSE RACING UNDER REVIEW
MAKE A SUBMISSION ✍️
For the first time in over a decade, the NSW Thoroughbred Racing Act is under review. 🐎
This review will shape how horses are treated for years to come.
Racing NSW both promotes racing and regulates welfare— leaving horses at risk. Despite billions in profits, the industry still:
✅ Breeds more horses than it can rehome
✅ Uses cruel practices like whips, tongue ties and racing immature two-year-olds
✅ Hides deaths, injuries adn wastage behind closed doors
We cannot let the same system that causes harm continue to regulate itself. Welfare must be independent and put horses first.
