Making my public commitment today at @MMLeague Board of Trustees Meeting on how I will lead this year. I always learn so much at these sessions and from the other Trustees!
Thanks @jessicatramonta for letting me be your guest. You are a natural! Inspiring women reminding us to pull up the chair for those behind us and make sure everyone is full at that table! ❤️
Today’s panelist, @SarahAnthony517, has always fought for equity and opportunity for all Michiganders, including the most vulnerable among us. She is the daughter of UAW retirees and the first Black woman to serve as state Rep. in Lansing’s history. #LansingEconClub
@VandecarAngie Thanks friend- you are an inspiration to me too- leading with your authentic self and supporting other each day no matter what the challenge.
I love a good all employee In-Service and this one didn't disappoint as we focused on Solution Mindset. Special thanks to Fire and Police Chief for hosting a heated game of Family Feud where teams were tested on City knowledge!
After a big snowfall, we see streets naturally reshape and become more complete as cars travel over them and snow builds up. These sneckdowns (or snowy neckdowns) and reveal how much extra space we cede to cars that could be redeveloped into cycling or pedestrian infrastructure.
Great day at Capitol learning from @MMLeague the key policy issues impacting cities.
Loved rights & responsibilities of citizens - vote, be informed, and voice opinions.
Proud to represent the City of Mason with the Mayor on this team last night. The energy and enthusiasm in that room was contagious!
Great towns have great schools and we are lucky to have @MPSBulldogs!
Good ideas are not enough…
Heard that @MIMunicipalExec conf and it stuck…
Staff, elected official, residents need to accept that all our “good” ideas require working together, being open to the faults in those ideas & a willingness to compromise to actually implement them.
I struggle with this sometimes but it is worth working through the discomfort.
Especially the example of...
- My perspective about this is valid *and* so is theirs even though we disagree
🎧 Thanks to the surge in mortgage rates, we've seen a historic collapse in mortgage affordability.
So what do these 7% mortgages mean for prospective homebuyers? Morgan Stanley’s Jim Egan weighs in on Odd Lots

Proud of our Student of the Month! More impressed w her amazing teacher that delivered it to our home since she is too sick to attend the ceremony tonight! First smile in days. We ❤️ Mason Public Schools!
Never forget- I just finished “Three Sisters” an amazing historical novel based on the true story of three sisters that survived Auschwitz. Their story and so many more are worth reading and remembering. #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay
Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Today and every day, we remember the millions of lives taken, while also uplifting the stories from this dark past. Even almost a century later, artifacts and pieces of this time are still being uncovered. https://t.co/UHCE5ROtZ6
Another addition to the City of Mason family arrived this week! Her pic isn’t for us to share but she is perfect, cuddling up with this blanket from us❤️ So happy to offer paid parental leave so her Dad gets to be there for this special time! #WholePerson
You know you are a City Manager when you get notice of kids snow day & immediately get defensive.
“What do you mean roads aren’t safe?!… I have to check! It must be the temp cause roads look great!…nope! Oh, it must be the county roads in the district- surely not us…”😂 ❄️
Our Elfie, Mason, has been busy at work all over the City the past few weeks and created quite a bit of havoc for our staff!
Wishing you Happy Holidays from the City of Mason Crew!
