#UAE charity pledges $300,000 to #Ethiopia Cardiac Center for pediatric heart care
Addis Abeba - The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has pledged $300,000 in financial support to the Ethiopia Cardiac Centerto expand life-saving treatment and surgeries for children with heart conditions, according to the WAM.
The funding announcement was made during an official visit to the center in Addis Abeba by a UAE delegation, including Mohamed Salem Al Rashdi, Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, and Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei. The visit took place on the sidelines of the Zayed Charity Run, scheduled to be held in the capital.
Al Mazrouei said the contribution is aimed at strengthening the center’s capacity to treat children and aligns with the humanitarian mission of the charity run, inspired by the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He added that the support reflects ERC’s broader commitment to advancing healthcare initiatives, particularly in addressing pediatric heart disease and improving outcomes for vulnerable communities.
Chief Executive Officer of the Cardiac Center, Hiruy Ali Endries, welcomed the contribution, describing it as “a vital support” that will help expand access to essential care and improve patient outcomes.
Since its establishment, the Center has treated approximately 24,000 patients and performs surgeries for both children and adults. It currently handles between 30 and 40 patients daily and receives referrals from neighboring countries, while maintaining a growing waiting list for consultations.

@ProfKindeya Has the Pretoria agreement been implemented? Has IDPs returned to their homes? Has families of those who were killed & raped got justice? The TPLF are part of the Pretoria agreement so therefore their status should be restored so Pretoria agreement can be implemented.
