I am deeply anguished by the brutal terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region of Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir.
My heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, and prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.
This act of violence is utterly reprehensible and must not go unpunished.
Today’s terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir is not only unfortunate and horrifying but it must serve as a clarion call for the GoI.
This is the same government that claimed demonetisation would end black money and terror funding and that the abrogation of Article 370 would bring lasting peace to the region. Yet, today’s tragic incident stands as a stark reminder of the failure of these promises, policies and propaganda.
My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident. I pray that God grants them strength and comfort in this time of immense grief. Wishing a speedy and complete recovery to all who are injured.
My heart goes out to the families of the victims of the devastating terrorist attack on the tourists in Jammu and Kashmir today.
One of the victims, Sri Bitan Adhikari, is from West Bengal. I have talked with his wife over phone. Though no words are enough to console her in this hour of grief, I have assured her that my Government is taking all steps to bring back his mortal remains to his house at Kolkata.
My deepest condolences to all the families who have lost their loved ones in this inhuman act of terror.
As per latest updated information made available to us, 3 persons from our State have died in the most unfortunate Kashmir violence.
All arrangements are being put up by our administration at Delhi Airport to help the family members of the victims and their onward journey to Kolkata. Flight is likely to arrive Kolkata at 8.30 pm today. Our Resident Commissioner's office in Delhi is in touch with the family members. I am personally overseeing and our senior officers are working hands on.
A grim hour for all of us.
Our victims are: Bitan Adhikari (of Baishnabghata, Kolkata), Samir Guha (Sakher Bazar, Kolkata), and Manish Ranjan (Jhalda, Purulia). No word is enough as condolence for their families, even while my heart goes out to them. We stand by the families.
Smt. @MamataOfficial made it abundantly clear that there is no place for gratuitous violence in Bengal.
Under her compassionate leadership, our Ma, Mati, Manush Sarkaar will:
👉🏻 Provide Rs. 10 lakh compensation to families of the deceased
👉🏻 Offer housing support under Banglar Bari for homes destroyed
👉🏻 Ensure adequate compensation for shops damaged

The idea of “Vikas” for BJP Government at the Centre seems to be squeezing every last penny from the pockets of ordinary Indians. From essential medicines to petrol, diesel, and cooking gas, every necessity is slowly becoming a luxury.
While families struggle with shrinking savings and mounting debt, this regime continues its assault on household budgets. BJP isn’t running a government at the Centre, it’s taking money from people’s pockets.
Glad to share that West Bengal is steadily progressing in its own resource mobilization efforts, which is evident from the fiscal results compiled at the end of the FY 2024-25.
In GST in 24-25, we have collected Rs. 4808 crore more than the preceding year, which shows 11.43% growth. This is 2% more than the national level (9.44%), and is demonstrative of our increasing internal financial strength.
In registration and stamp duty, the number of deeds registered has increased by 60 thousand, which shows dynamism of our market. The collection in 24-25 has been Rs 1908 crore more than the previous year, which is a growth of 31.05%.
All this shows that we believe in self-reliance and fiscal discipline, and our administration is serious in streamlining the State finances for the welfare of the people of Bengal.
Congratulations to our Finance Department, and everybody indeed for cooperating with us.
Let us move from strength to strength!
.@Lord_Bilimoria lauded Smt. @MamataOfficial for her compelling address at the University of Oxford, where she showcased Bengal’s progress in social development and women and child empowerment, earning applause from people across the UK.

The moon that heralds Eid is the same moon that graces Karva Chauth. The waters of the Ganga and Aab-e-Zamzam may have different names, but their essence remains the same. Embracing this spirit of unity, I joined my brothers and sisters in celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr.
There are forces attempting to erode this harmony, to divide communities, to turn brother against brother. But Bengal has never bowed to the politics of hate, nor will it ever. This land belongs as much to Kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore as it does to Kazi Nazrul Islam.
On this auspicious occasion, let's pledge to rise above divisions, and to uphold the spirit of togetherness that defines our soil. Eid Mubarak!
Today, I joined my brothers and sisters at Red Road in celebrating the sacred occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. In moments like these, we are reminded of the simple yet profound truth that beyond all perceived differences, we stand as one.
Bengal has always been a land that embraces all, a land where humanity rises above division. And as long as I have the strength to stand, I will do everything in my power to ensure that no force of hate or discord takes root here. We remain united, not just in celebration but in spirit. That is, and will always be, Bengal’s greatest strength.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and blessed Eid-ul-Fitr!

From the day I lost my father as a child, life has been a battle, one that I have fought as a student leader, as the voice of the opposition, and now as the head of a people’s government. I have never shied away from struggle, and I never will. But I will not allow anyone to diminish Bengal’s achievements or question the sacrifices that have shaped our progress.
It was a moment of personal pride to see scholars, academicians, and thought leaders recognise the Bengal Model we have built with such dedication. Standing at the University of Oxford, one of the world's most esteemed institutions, I had the privilege of sharing Bengal’s remarkable growth story. It was an experience I shall cherish forever.
